ABOUT DC-ANSP

DC-ANSP was founded as Netherlands Antilles Air Traffic Control (“NAATC”) which was incorporated in Curaçao on 9 February 2005 and became operational on 1 April 2006.

DC-ANSP is an Air Navigation Service Provider (“ANSP”) which is responsible for the Air Traffic Services (“ATS”) within the Curaçao Flight Information Region (FIR).

DC-ANSP operates 3 air traffic control facilities: an Area Control Centre located in Curaçao and two Aerodrome Control Towers, one located at Hato International Airport (Hato Control Tower) and the other one located at Bonaire International Airport (Flamingo Control Tower).

DC-ANSP has to adhere to binding treaties and decisions of international organizations as well as local regulations of Curaçao and Bonaire, that effect the performance of the public duties of the company.

Services

 DC-ANSP is an Air Navigation Service Provider (“ANSP”) which is responsible for the Air Traffic Services (“ATS”) within the Curaçao Flight Information Region (FIR).

These Services consist of:

  • Air Traffic Control Services:
    • Area control services in the Curaçao FIR;
    • Aerodrome and Approach control services for the island of Bonaire or behalf of the Government of The Netherlands;
    • Aerodrome and Approach control services for the island of Curaçao;
  • Providing flight information;
  • Providing alerting services;
  • Aeronautical Information Services (“AIS”):
    • The publication of a Dutch Caribbean Aeronautical Information Publication (“AIP”) for Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, St. Martin, Saba and St. Eustatius.
    • The publication of Notice to Airmen (“NOTAM”) for all the islands of the Dutch Caribbean.

The Curaçao FIR

The Curaçao FIR is outlined in the figure below and is bound by means of straight lines with the following coordinated:

  • 1230N 07030W-1230N 07125W-1420N 07400W;
  • 1600N 07400W-1700N 07300W-1700N 07140W;
  • 1600N 07140W-1600N 06800W-1541N 06704W;
  • 1124N 06758W-123N 07030W.

The control zone of Aruba doesn’t fall under the responsibility of DC-ANSP.

Governance

In conformity with the articles of incorporation, DC-ANSP is being managed by a Director General, under the supervision of a Supervisory Board. Below, please find the organizational structure of DC-ANSP.

Director General

 Mrs. Albertus-Verboom was appointed Director General of the Netherlands Antilles Air Traffic Control “NAATC” (Since 31 May 2012, the NAATC changed into Dutch Caribbean Air Navigation Service Provider “DC-ANSP”) on 1 January 2006 and is in charge of the overall operations and performance of the Company.

In 2011, Mrs. Albertus-Verboom was elected chair of CANSO’s Latin America and Caribbean Committee (LAC3). As chair of the LAC3, Mrs. Albertus- Verboom was appointed member of the CANSO Executive Committee (ExCom).

Mrs. Albertus-Verboom was re-elected in 2014 and her term ended in 2016.

Prior to joining DC-ANSP, Mrs. Albertus-Verboom worked for the Government of the former Netherlands Antilles with over 7 years experience in the Justice Department and has a Masters Degree in Law.
